It is good that the students have the chance to work on real machines and computers. In Australia we have classes organised like this too. How do you teach the students theory? We sometimes find this quite difficult.
I mix different materials and trying, if it is possible to involve students verbally in my lessons. I promote my lessons as discussion classes where I pick up the students' own experiences (it's a lot to get there).
It is excellent to mix your approaches to teaching like this. I am sure the stduents learn best in this way: thinking and doing. Using the students own experiences as a place to begin a discussion is also very useful. It lets you know what they know and dont know. We use this a lot in Australia too esepcially with more mature students. Do you ahve any mature students in your clases?
