Class in industrial technology 2

Each student has a laptop. The students started out by calculating on a piece of paper by hand. Later on they made calculations on the computer in Excel.

  1. Hi Andrea!
It seems interesting that every student has an own computer. Do they also have lessons in "Microsoft Office" or that kind of programs? Are the calculations on a basic level?
What type of calcylation did you do this day?

  2. I also think it's great that students can have their own computers. This increases the possibility that even "moving classes" outside the classroom.
Excel can be a bit complicated, how do you teach the program?

  3. I would be interested in how you go about teaching your students to use Excel. Our students learn this program in their secondary school or in the Vocational College. I agree that havinbg a computer gives the students a lot more flexibility about where and how they learn.

  4. Excel is an excellent way to do all kind of things! from calculation to spell checking test.

  5. We have a very strong demand from our network of industrial companies that they want the students to be able to handle calcualtions in Excel or in similar programs. On this level we do simple calculations in the Math classes and we try to use the tool in other classes later on.
