  1. This sounds quite advanced. In Australia our students do similar things in our Technical and Vocational Education Coilleges and in our secondary schools. In Australia large companie also do a lot of training in this area/ Does this happen in Sweden?

  2. Yes it does, a lot of companis acctualy spends a lot of money educationing their employees! So we only provide basic training in this area, so that the students get familiar with the different techniques and bassic setup of some functions, the rest is provided by the companies themself, there is no way to provide skills at company level when you have students with no previous experience. The companies have a saying when it comes to what kind if basic training they want us to give the students, for exampel, this year we focus on Basic networking and server training, Next year we will focus on Communication engineering.

  3. It is interesting to see that there are a lot of similar things in Australia and Sweden. Our Vocational students can leave after two years and get a job in a big company where they do more training provided by the company. We also think we can only give them the basic skills. It is intersting to me that the comapnies tell you what kinds of skills you need to teach the students. We dont have this kind of direct contact in Australia and perhaps we should have this. Do you find that the companies give you good advice about what you should be teaching?

  5. Yes we do have a mixed environment although the PC seems to be the most common. Students who are doing a lot of graphics work, or design or computer aided design prefer to work on the Macs. How does this work in Sweden?
